Handmade Boss Day Gift Ideas
Gel candles
Material Needed
- Ceramic containers, like mugs and glasses
- Gel Wax
- Candle Wicks
- Pencils
- Pot (for melting wax)
- Candle Scent and Color (non alcohol-base)
- Sharp Scissors
Procedure
- Take a pencil and string the wick around it, leaving some of the
wick free to reach the bottom part of the candle container. It must
go straight down the center of the container.
- Put the pencil with the twined wick on top of the container;
allowing it to hang down the center of the container.
- Melt the wax, by cutting it into cubes first, to hasten the
melting.
- Add color and scent, making sure that they do not make the wax
cloudy.
- After melting, pour the gel wax into the container you have
prepared.
- Fill the container, but set a limit.
- Make sure that the wax-turned-gel fully cools down.
- Check out the wick, if it really takes the focal point of the
container.
- Trim the wick to ¼ of its total length.
- Next you can tie a ribbon around it.
- Stick a nice card, with a special message, to the container.
Metallic Wind Chime
Materials Needed
- 4 Light Metal Measuring Cups, of different sizes
- Acrylic Paint Colors
- Drill (Optional)
- Fishing Line
- Paint Brush
- Sealer
- Wire Whisk
Procedure
- If your measuring cups do not already have a hole on the handle,
drill one on the handle of each cup.
- Paint your cups in any color you like, using acrylic paint and
paint brush. Draw design such as floral, geometric or even abstract
patterns.
- Preferably use different main colors on each cup.
- Paint the wire whisk as desired.
- When the paint dries, spray sealer on the wire whisk and the
measuring cups.
- Now tie the fishing line to each cup.
- Vary the length of string for each cup, preferably the smallest
length of string for the smallest cup and so on, in ascending order.
